Description:

The Test Engineer assists technicians with test setups while coordinating necessary activities to complete testing on time. The Test Engineer will be aware of all aspects of a specific program test requirements and will be a source of knowledge about what needs to be achieved to succeed. The Test Engineer will adopt a "Safety First" culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the preparation of equipment for testing to ensure that systems perform according to necessary specifications on all platforms/projects/systems.
  • Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols for all platforms/projects/systems.
  • Reviews and submits documentation of testing/validation results and confirms operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality all platforms/projects/systems.
  • Provides technical leadership to team members on all protocols for testing/validation.
  • Applies scientific principles to innovate, design, develop, and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and customer guarantees across applicable operating conditions.
  • Ensures novel ideas and implementations are captured and protected using applicable IP processes and tools.
  • Measures, analyzes, and calibrates equipment and processes to ensure quality.
  • Ensures systems perform according to necessary specifications.
  • Confirms operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality. Establishes validation standards and develops testing protocols.
  • Documents test results and maintains records for later analysis. Coordinates with other departments who will be affected by testing.

Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working in a test lab department (including, but not limited to, writing test reports, executing qualification tests, collecting data etc.)
