System One Industrial Hygienist in Everett, Washington

System One is seeking contract with an Industrial Hygienist for a long-term position on-site in Everett, WA. The successful candidate will provide support to multiple worker operations and work in unison with other safety departments to identify, recognize, evaluate, and control workplace exposures. The industrial hygienist will require working knowledge of ergonomics, chemicals, non-ionizing radiation, ventilation, thermal stress, and noise. Daily responsibilities include writing exposure assessments, sampling, managing hazardous cleanup, conducting periodic inspections, overseeing confined space entry, maintaining chemical inventory, managing hazardous waste, and providing safety review of documents and plans.

This position will be directed by the industrial hygiene and waste manager.

Responsibilities

· Develop exposure assessments to mitigate workplace hazards for new and existing projects.

· Provide review of documents, risk assessments and work plans.

· Sample chemical and physical hazards.

· Assist with the management and movement of hazardous waste.

· Approve incoming hazardous chemicals.

· Ensure operation and maintenance of testing instruments.

· Conduct respirator fit testing.

· Deliver safety training.

· Oversite support for chemical and hazardous waste cleanup response.

· Conduct safety walkthroughs and audits.

Key Qualifications and Skills

· B.S. in Industrial Hygiene, Environment Health and Safety, or related field

and minimum 5 years relevant experience working in an industrial hygiene discipline.

· Advanced understanding of 29 CFR 1910 &1926. (10CFR & 40CFR is a plus)

· Understanding of occupational exposure limits (ACGIH TLV, OSHA PEL).

· Familiar with common IH calculations is required.

· Ability to wear all levels of PPE.

· Work independently and as part of a team.

· Strong communication and verbal skills desired

· The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and

display respect, and a desire to foster teamwork.

· Actual position starting level and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.

Hourly Rate $40.00 - $70.00 based on qualifications.
