KTA-Tator, Inc. Corrosion Engineer in Everett, Washington

Elzly Technology Corporation (Elzly) is seeking to fill a full-time Corrosion Engineer position to support a myriad of clients and exciting projects predominantly on the west coast of the United States. Elzly is a growing consulting-engineering firm that provides technical and subject matter expertise for the prevention and control of corrosion. Our services include assisting our clients with field investigations of corrosion phenomena, research and testing of materials, developing and delivery of training materials, development of specifications, and on-site/field support to Elzly's and our parent organization's (KTA Tator, Inc.) customers. JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • A successful candidate will perform field inspections, demonstrate new corrosion control technologies, and actively participate in various projects for the Department of Defense as well as other government and commercial clients.
  • Projects executed by the successful candidate will tangibly improve military readiness and address the decay of highway structures by preventing corrosion on air, ground, and sea weapons systems as well as infrastructure assets.
  • This is an entry to mid-level position with Elzly and as such the following can be expected:
    • Plan, coordinate, and perform the logistics associated with the successful execution of on-site project tasks which can involve teams of engineers and subcontractors on projects.
    • Travel to customers' sites, project sites, military installations, and other required locations to assist or lead the execution of project tasking.
    • Perform on-site evaluations of coating and corrosion control activities, collect data and perform data analysis, and draft reports of evaluations.
    • Assist in research and planning of new corrosion control technology test programs.
  • As the successful candidate gains experience at Elzly, they can expect increasing levels of technical and management responsibility on larger and more complex projects/programs, including representing the company to professional organizations, military, and commercial clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Travel will be required, may include some international travel, and varies by job assignment and candidate locale (25 to 50% expected) -- required.

Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and be willing to pursue (or have) a Government security clearance -- required.

2+ years of corrosion experience with an engineering or materials science bachelor's degree. (Individuals with other 4-year degrees or have worked in this area without a degree are welcome to apply) -- required.

  • Advanced education, industry certifications, or military service in a similar role may substitute for years of experience -- optional.

Candidate located on the west coast -- required.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment, while also collaboration with other staff members to successfully integrate into a collaborative team structure -- required.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite in addition to the ability to work effectively both collaboratively and independently, including in a remote environment -- required.

Association for Materials Protection and Performance, NAVSEA corrosion control and inspection certifications, or equivalent (CIP Level 1 or 2, NBPI, SCAT, etc.) -- highly desired.
