Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships for nonmetallic aerospace testing.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Works with LMI Everett management team to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue and profitability for the organization.

  • Finds potential new customers, presents to them and ultimately creates accounts that will continue to grow business in the future.

  • Screens potential new business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluates options, and resolves internal priorities.

  • Supports site Project Managers by strengthening relationships with existing accounts.

  • Calls on existing and potential new clients, by presenting services that meet or predict the account’s future needs.

  • Prospects for new customers with advertising, broadcasting, publishing, and other new media, and plans persuasive approaches and presentations that will encourage them to do business with LMI.

  • Continually develops rapport with new clients, and sets targets for sales and support that will consistently improve the relationship.

  • Technical conference and trade show attendance and participation.

  • Forecasts sales targets and develops plans to meet targets.

  • Develops and maintains a competitor capability matrix.

  • Reviews, follows-up, and provides feedback to quoting department.

  • Interacts regularly with LMI Corporate business development to coordinate information and market trends and relay information to LMI Everett leadership team on potential impacts.

  • Reviews pricing model and adapts as necessary to keep up with market requirements and ensures competitiveness.

  • Tracks and records activity on accounts and helps to close deals to meet sales targets.

  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements and developing and negotiating contracts.

  • Identifies opportunities for campaigns, products, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

  • Presents to and consults with senior level management on business trends and market analysis.

  • Interacts professionally with co-workers and vendors; understands internal customers; and strives to maintain good relations with others.

  • Responds quickly to internal/external customer inquiries and follow up as needed.

  • May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by business demands.

  • Embraces change to ensure overall success of company.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, as well as a minimum of five (5) years of experience in customer support and development or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Specific experience should include business development, program management, and technical sales/marketing in aerospace market.

  • Direct knowledge and experience with materials and components testing, manufacturing processes, and extensive knowledge of the aerospace industry and its customers is required.

  • Proven proficiency with the English language.

  • Proven experience with marketing tools such as periodicals, website development/enhancements and social media.

  • Knowledge of industry-based test standards and specifications preferred.

  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints is preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
