The Department of Elementary & Secondary Education’s (DESE) is in the process of establishing a registered teacher apprenticeship program in Massachusetts, LED by DESE’s Center for Strategic Initiativessupported by the Office of Educator Effectiveness and informed by an advisory group of keys constituents. CSI is currently finalizing the framework that will guide the initial launch of this program. DESE/CSI is seeking a/contracted employee with K-12 Business Manager experience/to perform the following essential duties: · Review the newly Registered Apprenticeship Framework to identify all funding needs and propose potential ways to fund each need. · In partnership with a higher education partner identify potential funding streams that could be tapped into to appropriately run an apprenticeship program. · Create a guidebook for districts on acquiring and/or managing funds to host an apprenticeship program within their district. · Advise DESE on funding they may want to allocate for the apprenticeship programwhich can be sustainable over time. Preferred qualifications: • Worked with K-12 education to support work within a district. • Understanding of how to access private funding sources for schools and colleges. • Background knowledge about registered apprenticeship programming. • Ability to work in partnership with multiple stakeholders. • Able to work in 6–8-week timeframe to complete workstream. • Designed guidebook around fiscal systems.
