GE Aerospace Senior Staff Engineer - EBC Materials and Processes in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

The senior staff engineer will be part of the CMC and EBC materials and processing team whose mission is to advance state of the art CMC’s and EBC's and enable CMC technologies. The role will be responsible for executing on broad technology programs that contribute to the overall CMC and EBC strategy. In this role, partnering and leading a cross-functional team from materials, design, and manufacturing will be key to success.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for EBC materials and processes technology maturation programs for use in CMC/EBC Aerospace products

  • Responsible for setting and executing on strategic EBC roadmaps that support component durability, performance, and cost out

  • Responsible for planning and managing engineering budget and resources to execute on EBC projects

  • Partner with Design and Supply Chain to lead EBC technology maturation programs, support root cause investigations, and other process or material development to support current fielded products like LEAP and GE9X

  • Develop next generation EBC materials and processes to support future commercial and/or military components

  • Problem solve EBC production issues as needed

  • Develop and support data analytics and modeling of manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science

  • At least 5 additional years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment

Desired Characteristics

  • Technical experience with ceramic processing

  • Technical experience with coatings materials and processes

  • Effective team building and project management ability

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Knowledge of EBC materials and processing

  • Knowledge of CMC materials and processing
