GE Aerospace Lead Engineering Specialist - Supportability in Evendale, Ohio

Job Description Summary

Supportability Specialists are responsible for all aspects of product supportability for an engine program. In this role, you will analyze and influence system supportability to meet applicable requirements and be the primary interface between the Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) and Logistics community. Your goal will be to deliver an engine system that exhibits the highest levels of supportability and minimizes the logistics burden at the lowest customer life cycle costs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Works with a team of engineers performing supportability related work scope and deliverables.

  • Manage schedule, budget, and performance for Supportability team.

  • Focus on objectives to identify constraints, thresholds, and areas of improvement to convert supportability input into tradeoffs.

  • Participate in technical meetings and design reviews as the supportability expert.

  • Integrate with design teams to establish module parts lists and to refine engine design to maximize supportability and lower life cycle costs.

  • Execution of Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).

  • Define and execute the process for Logistics Control Number creation.

  • Participate in software evaluations led by the Digital Technology team to identify suitable software solutions which meet requirements and support long term needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (or high school diploma/GED with 6 years of additional relevant or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supportability engineering or a closely related field such as product support, field service, technical publications, reliability, systems engineering, provisioning, training, logistics, supply chain, or sustainment.

  • Ability to maintain or obtain a Government Security Clearance.

Desired Characteristics

  • Gas turbine engine experience

  • Experience in logistics engineering.

  • Experience performing product support analysis per MIL-HDBK-502A.

  • Experience collecting, developing, and storing logistics support analysis record data per MIL-STD-1388-2B and / or GEIA-STD-0007.

  • Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter Visualization Mockup.

  • Working knowledge of Logistics Product Database software (SlicWave, Eagle, etc.)

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to plan, document, and execute programs using established project management skills.

  • Master's degree.
