Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position is responsible for shipment and receipt of goods for the plant. Shipper responsibilities include staging outbound materials and loading outbound trucks. Receiver duties include receiving all incoming materials and inbound shipments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned that pertain to the classification. Demonstrated job duties and knowledge listed are sum for the job classification. Knowledge of all duties is to be cross functional but specific duties are assigned within available personnel.

· Understand and implement all safety rules and policies regarding the use of powered industrial trucks, handling heavy equipment or material, and general warehouse safety

Follow all applicable cGMP and Food Safety procedures

RECEIVER :

  • Unload all incoming freight.

  • Ensure accuracy is correct based on Purchase Orders vs. packing slips.

  • Verify materials are damage free and in acceptable condition.

  • Update computer system (JDE)

  • Accurate storage of materials or delivery materials to proper departments.

  • Help maintain inventory control.

SHIPPER:

  • Accurate set up of outbound materials based on pick-slips.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy is maintained.

  • Ensure product integrity is maintained at a high level.

  • Load outbound trucks upon arrival.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or GED required

  • Previous warehouse experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Computer proficiency, specifically Excel, and JDEdwards

  • Powered industrial truck operating experience, particularly fork lift

  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. Employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
