CenterPoint Energy Senior Gas Storage Integrity Management Program Engineer in Evansville, Indiana

CenterPoint Energy is looking for aSenior Gas Storage Management Integrity Program Engineerto join our Team, which can be located in various CenterPoint Energy territories (Indiana, Texas, Ohio, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Minnesota).

You will have the ability toberesponsible for serving as the lead over the compliance requirements for the Storage Integrity Management Program (SIMP) as required by 49 CFR 192.12 and API Recommended Practice 1171 as incorporated by reference in code by PHMSA. This role is responsible for the identification, assessment and mitigation of pipeline safety risks associated with underground natural gas storage facilities. Responsibilities include maintaining and analyzing storage asset data, planning, and executing assessments, and developing the long-term capital plans for the underground natural gas storage facilities, including design and specifications for new/replacement storage assets to ensure regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitating the underground natural gas storage facility risk modelling, threat identification, and review including implementing or enhancing the risk model.
  • Developing storage asset data improvement projects to improve threat identification, risk assessment, and assessment method selection, and mitigation project planning.
  • Coordinating with Reservoir Engineering, Gas Storage and LP Operations, and System Planning on the timing, tracking and progress of underground natural gas storage facility projects, including scheduling, project management, and documentation.
  • Developing long-term infrastructure investment plans to address regulatory implications or record keeping issues.
  • Reviewing transmission work order documentation for traceable, verifiable, and complete records requirements.
  • Performing all engineering analysis and technical support required for the SIMP program, including, but not limited to:
  1. Integrate historical SIMP assessments.
  2. Identify threats and hazards.
  3. Update assessment schedule and risk model as needed and perform.
  4. Develop risk treatments and implement PandM measures.
  • Reviewing and approve UNGSF engineering designs to ensure compliance to all integrity required aspects.
  • Providing support for SIMP regulatory, data requests and internal/external audits. Monitor changes in state and federal pipeline safety regulation and adapt SIMP program requirements accordingly.
  • Providing data for internal performance reporting and external performance reporting including DOT Form PHMSA 7100.4-1 (Underground Natural Gas Storage Annual Report).
  • Participating in industry committees to maintain a network of peers and knowledge for pipeline safety.

Education Description

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or otherapproved engineering disciplinefrom an accredited college or university.
  • Requires a Professional Engineer (PE) Certification.

Experience

  • Requires a minimum of four years' experience in integrity management, compliance, utility design, or related project construction design.
