The Bergaila Companies Senior Buyer in Evans, Colorado

We have an opening for a Senior Buyer to work in the Evans, CO area.

Our Client is a primary solution provider that engineers and manufactures environmental, production and process equipment for the upstream, midstream and downstream energy industries, as well as environmental control solutions for biogas at wastewater facilities, digester tanks, landfills or breweries. In addition to being present in all major markets in the US, our client also serves 45 countries around the world.

Position Overview: Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical supplies or services. Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers. Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value. May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis or alternative sourcing. Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues. Works with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing and product availability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Act as an agent for the company within the limits of authority delegated.

  • Coordinates purchasing activities by reviewing requirements and working with other departments to have materials when needed.

  • Continually review prices and pricing trends for product categories assigned. Needs to be alert to other requirements in an effort to combine purchases to secure the lowest possible price available through the economics of volume procurement.

  • Review opportunities and initiate action for new sources of supply and suitability of materials.

  • Follow up on purchase orders to insure timely delivery – may include expediting.

  • Performs all administrative functions necessary to return and/or replace rejected material in a timely manner to support the production function.

  • Cooperates with all departments in planning for future and existing requirements necessary to support internal and external customers

  • Works closely with supervisors to keep them apprised of major problems affecting delivery or quality of products.

  • Assists and/or implements long term agreements in materials

  • Oversees purchasing records to ensure accuracy and follow through

  • Knowledge of external factors relating to commodities purchased.

  • Performs other functions not specifically listed above, but required by administrative practice on management directive

  • Execute special projects as needed.

  • Establish a strong focus on internal and external customer service

  • Self-motivated individual with a bias toward action

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and rules

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study with 2 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment; or 6+ yrs. of purchasing experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of location will be considered.
