Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, multi-faceted provider to help us expand our clinical services. Our target patient base includes people living with HIV/HCV; members of the LGBTQ community, including trans and gender diverse individuals; people who inject drugs/have substance use disorder; and others utilizing HIV Alliance services. The provider will work with a team including Peer Recovery Specialists, HIV/HCV Care Coordinators, HIV PrEP/PEP Coordinators, HIV Pharmacists, HIV Certified RNs, Clinic Coordinator, Testing/Lab Staff and Medical Director. Support for this multi-disciplinary provider includes a Clinical Advisory Committee which consists of Infectious Disease, Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine, Primary Care, Pharmacy, and other providers. HIV Alliance seeks to deliver one-stop, low barrier, harm-reduction-focused care with the goal of improving health and wellness for those living with and at risk for HIV. Services are currently modified for COVID safety and are provided both in-person, with appropriate safety measures, and via tele-medicine. This is an opportunity to participate in the growth and development of our clinical services and to practice high impact medicine. We offer a flexible schedule and are currently seeking a provider for 10 hours a week with opportunity for increased hours as clinic grows. Essential Responsibilities Deliver culturally competent, harm reduction focused care Build and maintain relationships with medical providers Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disease progression and relevant therapies Maintain up-to-date and accurate records Comfortable with provision of tele-medicine and use of EHR Deliver care to HIV Alliance patients of all genders Participate in necessary meetings Document patients\' medical and psychological histories, physical assessment results, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, or outcomes. Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions, develop and implement treatment plans. Educate patients and family members about mental health and medical conditions, preventive health measures, medications, or treatment plans Write prescriptions for psychotropic medications as allowed by state regulations and collaborative practice agreements. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including therapists, care coordinators, or nursing staff, to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans. Participate in treatment team conferences regarding diagnosis or treatment of difficult cases. Develop practice protocols for mental health problems based on review and evaluation of published research. Refer patients requiring more specialized or complex treatment to psychiatrists, primary care physicians, or other medical specialists. Monitor the use and status of medical and pharmaceutical supplies. Provide routine physical health screenings to detect or monitor problems such as heart disease and diabetes.
