POSITION SUMMARY:

Job coaching involves mentoring individuals with a variety of abilities in a community employment setting. The job provides some flexibility in hours worked, variation in routine based on different job sites and a high level of satisfaction in seeing clients develop under your guidance. Job Coaches may also be cross-trained to work with clients in non-work settings, providing supports for outings and activities. This position is full time, 9AM-5PM Wednesday-Sunday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Orient, train, and supervise clients to perform community jobs to the specifications of employers and within the guidelines of the Individual Support Plan

  • Train clients in other vocational support skills as related to the job such as mobility, work schedule, clock use, appropriate attire, orienting skills and social interactions

  • Develop task analysis for each client's job as necessary

  • Provide support with communication & training between the client and business staff

  • Assist clients in obtaining required permits; i.e., driver's license, food handler's card

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with Job Development team as needed to ensure ongoing success in placement

  • Maintain contact with residential providers, funding sources, and other agencies concerning vocational activities

  • Maintain and facilitate on-going communications and consultation with employers, supervisors, and co-workers

  • Maintain all necessary on-the-job records and record daily data entries into appropriate record keeping systems

  • Cross training in other areas as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Dependable transportation; valid Oregon driver's license with driving record sufficient to qualify to drive agency vehicles

  • Ability to pass an Oregon Department of Human Services background check

  • Experience working in a vocational setting

  • Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred but not required
