Position Summary

The Office of Academic Affairs consists of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the Director of Experiential Education, the Academic Affairs Manager, and the Law Registrar. This position will support activities and tasks at the intersection of these positions as the administrative assistant for the Office of Academic Affairs.

This position will directly report to the Academic Affairs Manager and will be 1.0 FTE.

Minimum Requirements

• Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents;

OR

• An Associate degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology;

OR

• Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.

College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Professional Competencies

• Strong writing and editing skills.

• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty from culturally diverse backgrounds and with multiple intersectional identities; and advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the university community.

• Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills that indicate the ability to work as part of a team or independently.

• Ability to work effectively and utilize a range of communication channels with diverse groups of students, faculty, administrators, staff, and members of the bench and bar from a wide range of backgrounds.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (or similar).

• Knowledge of data integrity, integration, and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Three years of professional work experience.

• Experience in a law school or university academic affairs setting.
