Eaton Corporation Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Euclid, Ohio

Eaton’s AER FMC Fuel Motion Control Systems division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. This role is onsite at our Euclid, OH facility. The Euclid facility has approximately 300 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace Fuel Pumping components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $80250.03 - $117700.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

The Manufacturing Engineer leads Manufacturing Engineering projects across the High-Performance Work Teams and will focus on execution and implementation of best practices, including process troubleshooting and improvement, new product introduction, and advancements in manufacturing technologies. Executes strategic vision related to assigned functional responsibilities to include cost out / overhead optimization, CONC/DPPM reduction, leads lean continuous improvement activities related to productivity, and waste reduction improvements. Interface as necessary with internal Customers, Supply Chain, Engineering, ELSS and other disciplines to assure safety, quality, and cost control.

In this role you will:

  • Develop, prepare, and maintain complete cost-efficient manufacturing processes for product hardware of above average complexity. Design and implement routers, operational process sketches, fixturing and gages for safe and efficient manufacturing, assembly, inspection and testing of aerospace hardware.

  • Manage multiple projects across complex work teams

  • Interact with Design Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability of new products.

  • Determine all tooling, gauging, programing, and equipment requirements as needed.

  • Optimize existing assembly and test utilization through upgraded and improved tooling, programming, and first pass yield.

  • Provide support to floor issues across the manufacturing facility.

  • Develop and implement acceptance criteria, procedure/work instructions, setup instructions, quality management alerts regarding assembly capabilities and training materials in accordance with internal/external requirements.

  • Maintenance of production routings and time standards related to changes in process or equipment.

  • Support the planning, procurement, and maintenance of specialized tooling for all equipment to ensure constant availability to manufacturing as well as continuously improve the manufacturing process through upgrades and improvements to current tooling supply and sourcing.

  • Promote culture of Continuous Improvement and understand lean manufacturing techniques as they apply to eliminate waste and deliver products to customer’s expectations.

Qualifications:

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a metal machining environment.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Euclid, OH facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution.

  • Experience in highly controlled industries such as Aerospace and/or Automotive.

  • Five (5) years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, two (2) years related to assembly.

  • Two (2) years of experience leading manufacturing in a union manufacturing environment

  • Design, operations, or manufacturing engineering experience.

  • Sound manufacturing background (Processing, Programming, Assembly, and Tooling)

  • Excellent working knowledge of SPC and Six-Sigma principles

  • Experience in the use of Catia, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with G&M Code.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Products

  • Experienced in utilizing 2D/3D CAD software.
