Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Etters, Pennsylvania
Our manufacturing client in the Etters, PA area is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team!
Description:
The Senior Accountant will take full responsibility for the standard cost maintenance and analysis to include item changes, detailed analysis of product costing variances, and monthly absorption analysis for AIS, while driving the performance of the team.
• Credit/Collections: Review Accounts Receivable Report for delinquent accounts and have direct interfacing with customers on collection matters and dispute resolution. Ensure collections are completed timely, and reasons are known, recorded, and tracked for past-due balances. Complete annual review on credit limits. Complete credit checks on new customers, propose credit line and terms to Controller.
• Cash Management: Record receipts, and disbursements, reconcile with corporate cash management system. Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
• Accounts Payable: Review un-invoice report and assist direct report with resolving aged items. Review A/P Report for aged items and assist in resolution. Review inventory returns processed before data entry. Create wire transfers as required for expense payment and intercompany netting. Assist direct reports with supplier communications regarding inquiries regarding payment. Process quarterly PA Use tax filing. Create 1099’s at year end.
• Payroll: Compile payroll information for weekly journal entry. Review payroll tax reports to master recap of payrolls for period. Reconciliation of W-2 information. Process monthly OT file. Track sick pay both short (e) term and long term. Verify deposits (in) of employer amounts. Complete W-3 for W-2 provider by insurance carrier. Process 401k deposits weekly with Fidelity. Back up for processing weekly payroll.
• Fixed Assets: Process Construction in Process monthly, record Appropriation Requests in master file. File assets in Fixed Asset book. Process new assets, retirements, and depreciation in ERP System. Reconcile asset to ERP general ledger. Complete tagged physical inventory every three years on fixed asset ledger. Ensure assets are being depreciated with the correct depreciation method and number of years, per company policy. Ensure all assets are tagged properly.
• Inventory/Costing: Process quarterly excess and obsolete reserve report. Assist with annual physical inventory. Investigates standard vs actual cost variances on purchases. Investigate items with zero cost, blank cost fields, etc.
• Documentation: Review financial processes for financial manual and make recommendations for changes that will enhance internal controls.
• Month-end Responsibilities: Complete inventory reporting at month-end. Review the inspection, quality hold and return inventories for adjustments to final inventory. Complete shop labor entries. Complete journal entries as necessary. Complete balance sheet reconciliations. Complete corporate reporting as necessary.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
• 3+ years of manufacturing accounting experience
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
• Demonstrated systems and technical background in accounting software
• Experience in Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus
• Ability to identify, create and implement automated accounting processes, procedures and reports
• Proven intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Ability to collaborate with multi-department teams
• Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, aligned with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills, advanced excel skills, and solid written and verbal communication skills
