Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking a skilled and motivated repair technician to repair RF generators, matches, and general electronics assemblies (PCB, controllers, robots, electro-mechanical assemblies, and power supplies) to support the FAB9 Electronics Repair Center in Essex Junction, Vermont. The Fab9 ERC in turn supports Fab9 semiconductor manufacturing operations.

The candidate is primarily responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and testing of RF and general electronics and assemblies and is also expected to develop and deploy standard work including the documentation of same for the areas of responsibility.

This position requires an educational background in digital and analog electronics theory, component-level troubleshooting, and repair methodologies. This is an E-Shift (Monday-Friday) schedule but does require flexibility across all shifts to support 24x7 Fab operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills, with or without formal schematics or other documentation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and repair skills and methodologies, including the expert use of oscilloscopes, multimeters, OEM and other control software applications, expert soldering skills for both through-hole and surface mount components.
  • Troubleshooting and repair down to component-level is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and able to collaborate and work in a tightly-knit team.
  • Data mining and research capabilities to support the diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and thorough testing of equipment, assemblies, and sub-assemblies within areas of responsibility. Develop documentation, standardized repair procedures, and job breakdown sheets for same.
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members, customers, module engineers and technicians to effectively repair equipment, assemblies, and sub-assemblies within areas of responsibility.
  • Have a learning / mentoring mindset and be open to close team dynamics.
  • Work with Modules to determine high leverage opportunities and turn them into tangible results and savings.
  • Support fab with timely critical tool down repairs with high quality and efficiency.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Technical Associates Degree, Military / Trade Equivalent experience.
  • Experience - Min 5 years experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work within a tightly coupled team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Language Fluency - Fluent in English Language - written & verbal.
  • Physical Capacity Demands - Lifting to 40 pounds / bending / twisting.
  • Travel - Up to 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working in RF repair down to component-level.
  • Experience with maintenance/part repair such as PCB/Controllers/Robots/Power Supplies down to component-level.
  • Strong team player with ability to work well within a global team.

Expected Salary Range

\$52,500.00 - \$107,000.00
