Summary

Perform Engineering Technician support for Advanced Development.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Setup and run tests on electrical devices such as water pumps, fans, blowers, oil pumps and alternators during engineering development (EV), and validation (DV and PV)
  • Analyze data on electrical devices such as water pumps, fans, blowers, oil pumps and alternators
  • Accurately communicate test results to engineering and management.
  • Generate reports with using excel graphs integrated into power point presentations.
  • Use digital voltage meters and appropriate equipment to trouble shoot and gather critical data through the PDP.
  • Setup and run power supplies
  • Assist in trouble shooting electrical and mechanical devices.
  • Assemble electrical and mechanical devices such as water pumps, fans, blowers, oil pumps and alternators.
  • Low level soldering skills
  • Basic understanding of wire schematics.
  • Operation of test equipment such as, calorimeters, DMMs, power supplies, o-scopes, environmental chambers, etc...
  • Read and understand regulatory (SAE, ISO, ANSI...etc) customer, and internal specifications.
  • Create, understand, follow and communicate detailed test instructions.
  • Independently setup tests and testers to validate advanced development products.
  • Organize and maintain DVPR's and record test results in the form of test reports.
  • Construct test fixtures, mechanical test stands, electrical harnessing, etc....
  • Assist in developing timelines for validation testing.
  • Assist in developing testing cost proposals by sending out RFQ's to outside test sources, by analyzing test plans and calculating the hours and equipment necessary to execute the plan.
  • Communicate clearly and foster relationships with outside testing facilities, travels to outside test facilities to participate in testing.
  • Assist with internal and external gauge calibration and facilities that calibrate equipment.
  • Assist with failure analysis evaluation and product RMA analysis.

*Education and/or Experience  *

Two year associates degree from an accredited college or technical school and 2 years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.  Knowledge of electrical/mechanical production validation testing is preferred.
