Cargo Support Services, LLC Repair Technician in Erie, Pennsylvania

Cargo Support Services, LLC is a trusted FAA Certificated Repair Station specializing in the repair and maintenance of safety equipment for cargo airlines. At our small yet dynamic company, we utilize sewing machines to ensure the highest quality repairs. Duties:

  • With assistance, stage large fabric covers for the unpacking, hanging on a gantry crane, lifting to work area and/or folding and packing.
  • Conduct visual inspection to identify damaged areas on forms. Organize and accomplish the work using the most efficient repair method.
  • Using hand tools (rulers, tape measure, razors, scissors, knives, etc.) prepare fabric patches for use in repairs.
  • Apply patches over the damaged area and attach using an industrial sewing machine.
  • Using hand tools, repair pallet nets by removing and replacing damaged areas of the net with new materials.
  • Conduct self-inspection ensuring that all work was completed properly.
  • Complete internal forms capturing all repairs completed and materials used.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Use and general maintenance of sewing machines, such as bobbin replacement, winding, cleaning, lubricating and tension adjustments.
  • Must be able to follow rules and written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma, or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manuals and/or other technical data.
  • Basic read, write and communication in English.
  • Good housekeeping and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing / industrial and/or production environment a plus.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and move 60lbs.
