Insight Global Principal Transmission Planning Engineer in Ephrata, Washington
Job Description
A Public Utilities District (PUD) is seeking a Transmission Planning Engineer to develop long-range transmission plans in compliance with NERC Planning Standards, WECC System Performance Criteria, and company guidelines. This role involves updating the PUDs transmission planning processes and guidelines, performing engineering analysis of future transmission projects, and maintaining expertise in power flow, transient and voltage stability, and related applications. The engineer will conduct feasibility, system impact, and other studies related to load service and generation interconnection requests, and direct consultants in performing study work on the PUDs transmission system. Additionally, the engineer will participate in regional transmission planning meetings with WECC, regional planning groups, and other utilities, develop and retain expert knowledge of the PUD electric transmission system configuration and its interaction with the interconnected network, and train and mentor junior engineers on transmission planning principles.

Skills and Requirements
o Bachelors Degree in an engineering field (Electrical Engineering with a power systems emphasis preferred).
o 5+ years of experience in transmission systems planning. o Professional Engineering registration. null
