Assistant Plant Sales Manager; Enterprise, AL (Local Sales Manager)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The primary role for the Enterprise Assistant Plant Sales Manager is to manage the Local Sales Department. The Local Sales Manager acts as liaison between our Local Sales customers, delivery drivers and Plant Management. Ensures all orders received for Local Sales are processed and monitored until successful delivery. Coordinates with Production, Warehouse Personnel, Transportation, Sales, Quality Assurance, and the customer. Coordinates and schedules a fleet of drivers in compliance with company policy and DOT regulations to maximize operational performance and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a weekly order/shipping/delivery schedule per customer. • Mediate customer issues/complaints daily including: ETA’s on trucks, shortages or overages of product, invoice adjustments, credits, and billing questions.

  • Report all customer complaints to management. Process or deny credit when needed. • Visit local stores and establish professional working relationships with store and area managers. • Track and resolve shipping or delivery errors. • Coach and counsel drivers in areas such as safety, performance, and productivity. • Plan and schedule weekly loads to achieve maximum utilization of the Local Sales fleet. • Identify and resolve delivery and scheduling problems through timely communication with warehouse/shipping, production, driver, and the customer. • Assist fleet safety in monitoring ELDs to ensure driver compliance with the Department of Transportation Regulations and company policy

  • Pull pricing reports and communicate pricing updates with customers. • Perform administrative functions including: payroll, billing, driver recruitment, driver retention, and supervising Local Sales team members.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; however additional related work experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of DIRECTLY RELATED experience.

    BASIC SKILLS:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of customer service, finance, budgeting, sales, manufacturing and product development.

  • Prior poultry industry experience preferred.

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft); SAP experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to travel as required.
