Reference #: 4373609 THE POSITION The Department of Transportation in Cumberland County is currently on the lookout for individuals to join their team as Driver License Examiner Assistants. In this role, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the application and knowledge testing procedures for Pennsylvania's driver licensing program, both for commercial and non-commercial drivers. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of this role, you will be directly interacting with customers to verify their identification, assist them in completing application forms, and input their information into an online driver license application software. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting standardized knowledge tests to assess the applicant's understanding of the Vehicle Code, driving laws, and traffic control devices. A vision screening using a telebinocular instrument will be conducted to evaluate visual acuity. Using a PC terminal, you will enter applicant test results and customer applications into online software systems. It is crucial to strictly adhere to the customer service policy of Driver and Vehicle Services. Moreover, you will be accountable for correctly and accurately documenting fee waivers whenever necessary. Compliance with the Fee Waiver Guidelines is essential. Finally, you may be assigned other related duties as required.
