BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) Electro-Mechanical Technician in Enniscorthy, Ireland
Job Description Summary
We are looking for a Prototype Electro-Mechanical /Automation Technician for our prestigious facility in Enniscorthy. This position is responsible for fabrication of prototype electromechanical devices using internal manufacturing processes and through external vendors. This position is also responsible for building and testing of electrical panels including PLC systems to facilitate prototype development and testing. This position also will be responsible for maintaining and managing 3D printing machines to include prints from the local team.
This is an initial 2 year contract role
Responsibilities include, however are not limited to:
Fabrication of prototype electromechanical devices using internal manufacturing processes and through external vendors
Manufacture and assembly of mechanical fixtures and setups to facilitate prototype development and testing
Creation of electrical and pneumatic drawings for new equipment systems
Building and testing of electrical panels including PLC systems to facilitate prototype development and testing
Maintaining and managing 3D printing machines to include prints from the local team
Test and troubleshoot pneumatic, low voltage electrical and electronic components.
Modify, configure, and verify electrical and automation systems
Perform troubleshooting activities on the PLC programs
Work closely with engineers to provide design for manufacture
Feedback on fixture and prototype designs and take prototype concepts to reality
Ensuring all electrical and automation applications and files are organised, backed up, maintained, and accessible to the local team.
Keeping electrical drawings and documentation updated
Meeting compliance with all company and local regulatory standards and requirements.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Manufacturing Engineering team
Takes actions on corrective actions in a timely manner.
Collaborates with engineering on functionality issues and procedure updates.
Communicate with engineering on equipment performance and functionality issues.
Monitor productivity by tracking equipment downtime issues.
Leads with the installation, debug and validation of process equipment.
Maintain a clean/tidy and safe work area.
Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Is capable of leading a small team as a project leader.
Electrician certification or technical 3rd level certificate or diploma ideally Level 6 Electrical Advanced Craft Certificate
Ideally 1-2 years experience in a similar role. At a minimum have a good understanding of mechanical, electrical and other utility systems.
