Job Summary and Duties: This position will highlight new product development, as well as feature development and bug fixing of existing products serving the expanding big data, replication, and file systems market. This position is required to be well rounded in operating system including all flavors of Linux. Building specialized add-on software that interact with StorNext as a replication engine is a key responsibility for this position. Specific duties include but are not limited to: * Development and maintenance of products and functionality for various products. * Investigating and resolving issues in existing products related application workflows. * Fixing issues and new features in the StorNext Application Software using C, C++, & Perl. * Fixing issues and new features in the StorNext FileSystem software using C. * Fixing issues Quantum FlexSync using C & Perl. * Development of features taking advantage of LTO tape devices. * Working with customers and support team to resolve customer issues. * Improving on existing logic and layers that communicate to mysql database. * Working directly with Linux Kernels. * Working in an Agile environment. Job Requirements: * Minimum 3 years of experience using C/C++ for development. * Minimum 3 years of experience using Perl or other Linux Scripting languages. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Strong communication skills. * Self-motivated, able to identify and solve problems on their own.Can they pay attention to details to know that something isn t right? Will they take initiative if they see something that is not right to either fix it or raise an issue? Can they research the solution to the problem on their own?

  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and integrate other components into the solution.
  • Approach problems creatively and not just repeat the same mistakes made before them.
  • Strong debugging and trouble shooting skills.
  • Effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences. Desired Skills:
  • Interfaces with special purpose APIs and web services required.
  • Experience with mysql databases.
  • Experience with filesystem development
  • Experience in Linux operating system, able to perform installs, upgrades, maintenance and configuration.
  • Experience with SVN, GIT, & Jira.
