The Energy Market Leader is responsible for the coordination and oversight of a strategic national marketing program focused on Hydropower, Pump Storage, and FERC Licensing. This person will oversee business development activities, report to the Director of Business Development (DBD) in the areas of strategic planning, development of annual and long-term goals, budgeting, program leadership, client development, community and industry participation, project pursuits, staffing and marketing training. This person will work in cooperation with the Director of Operations (DOO) to support the operational business unit. Specific duties are outlined be Responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan for the Energy Program (Hydropower, Pump Storage, and FERC Licensing) working closely with DBD. This includes coordination, developing and leading the implementation of market sector strategic plans. Responsible for the execution of the Energy Market strategic plans for the organization. This enables the DBD to maintain the operational perspective necessary to execute the annual business plan. In coordination with DBD, identify, monitor and support attainment of net fee booked plan to drive consistent communication across the organization Drive the identification, development and qualification of potential Regional Major Campaign opportunities. This includes engaging submarket leads/Discipline Leads in the development and execution of key market sector initiatives identified during strategic planning and annual alignment meetings. Work closely with DBD to observe trends, adjust projections and make required alterations to plan in an effort to achieve year over year goals and cost management targets Manage strategy for pursuit efforts, and client development to maximize client satisfaction, company growth and profitability Monitor market trends and participate in development and implementation of strategic and tactical planning within the Energy Market. This includes strategic positioning for new business, existing business growth, conferences, technical expertise, and key market organization (i.e. National Hydropower Association or Northwest Energy Hydropower Association) inv Participate in project pursuits, proposal reviews, program evaluations, track client feedback, problem resolution, and client functions Identify key hires to help fill or expand technical expertise within the Energy Program to maintain appropriate staffing levels needed for project execution and pursuits Primarily focused upon driving current and future year bookings to achieve the strategic plan, and more importantly fuel growth across all Energy Business Group market sectors in future years Client management for select clients Identifying and teaming with strategic business partners for key pursuits Establish relationships with key strategic partners that align with overall business market strategic plan goals Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 15+ years progressive experience in a role focused on understanding and solving client issues in the water resources and energy consulting industry Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services Proven track record of major client development, relationship building and operational results Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies Excellent marketing and business development skills with demonstrated history of successful leadership of major BD strategies and ability to establish new business relationships and closing business deals Dedicated to being part of the McMillen employee ownership culture Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff Demonstrated experience in growing programs in new or highly competitive ma kets Compensation Package: Pay Range: $180,000 - $230,000 annual (depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location) Benefits: McMillen is an employee-owned company that provides a comprehensive Benefits Package promoting employee ownership, total wellness, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, FSA, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) and employer match, 9 Paid Holidays, generous PTO, tuition assistance, employee referral bonuses, and discretionary profit-sharing bonuses across all levels.
