Johnson and Johnson’s Innovative Health Engagement and Advocacy (IHE&A) organization has been created to drive meaningful impact to participant health and wellbeing by reinventing the clinical trial experience. The Innovative Health Engagement & Advocacy organization connects teams across development to novel capabilities and solutions, unleashing the potential of innovation to drive broader access to innovative medicines, and enrich the healthcare experience for all.

As the Director of Digital Engagement Strategy within IHE&A, your role will be pivotal in shaping our digital engagement with patients as well as defining our broader global omnichannel strategy. You will collaborate closely with the Integrated Data & Analytics Reporting (IDAR) team, Information Technology (IT) as well as Data Science & Digital Health (DSDH), Enterprise & Johnson & Johnson Communications and your peers within IHE&A. You will be responsible for our patient facing platforms such as Global Trial Finder and be expected to innovate and adapt the platforms in line with technology advancements to remain groundbreaking.

In addition, working closely with our Communications teams in Global Development (GD) and the Therapeutic Areas (TAs), you will support the reach and clinical messaging across global campaigns including but not limited International Clinical Trials Awareness Week (ICTAW) as well as disease specific days (e.g. Rare Disease Day). By using your expertise in omnichannel marketing, you will lead the building of a global team focused on growing Johnson & Johnson's ’s reach across social channels and online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the Digital Engagement strategy, collaborating closely with all relevant functions who will contribute including but not limited to the Innovative Health Analytics team within IHE&A, Global Development and TA Communications teams, IDAR and DSDH.

  • Work collaboratively with these key partners to design prioritized external engagement strategies aligned with the priorities of the DUs.

  • Develop frameworks that enable all functions who contribute to Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine communication strategies, to build more cohesive communications.

  • Conduct a comprehensive analysis of current Digital engagement initiatives across the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine ecosystem and create a robust roadmap to build an industry leading digital presence. This includes assessing current strategies, identifying gaps, and uncovering opportunities to improve current projects.

  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Health Care Compliance and Privacy partners to create an omnichannel strategy that lives within the overall Johnson & Johnson risk framework.

  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure a coordinated approach to engagement, driving cohesion and increasing effectiveness.

  • Provide dynamic leadership to a team of professionals, guiding their development, identifying coaching opportunities, and fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

  • 8 years of progressive business experience in the pharmaceutical and/or drug development industry is required.

  • A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated Pharmaceutical R&D experience with a proven track record of performance is required.

  • Previous experience leading digital engagement capabilities, specifically in R&D is required.

  • Sharp analytical skills and the ability to effectively use data to create impactful external engagement strategies is required.

  • Proven track record of successfully engaging external audiences to increase sponsor reputation is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence partners and implement change across a matrix organization is required.

  • Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills to effectively collaborate with global teams and functions is required.

  • Ability to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing environment, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility is required.

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing teams and establishing a positive work environment is required.

  • Ability to create structured approaches to drive flawless execution and establish standards of excellence is required.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $142,000 to $244,950.

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year.

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year.

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year.

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
