Description

Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Product Releases

Our consumer packaged goods (CPG) client in Emeryville, CA is seeking an interim Sr. Project Manager for their Product Releases team. As an interim Sr. Project Manager you will oversee the complex release processes of new products and play a crucial role in ensuring timely delivery of innovative products to key markets. With the ability to oversee up to 10+ projects simultaneously, you will demonstrate exceptional critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate risks associated with product releases. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end release process for new products, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.

  • Lead a portfolio of up to 10+ projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively.

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential obstacles and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful product launches.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to align project objectives with organizational goals.

  • Utilize project management tools, particularly Smartsheet, to track progress, manage resources, and report on project status.

  • Communicate regularly with project teams and leadership to provide updates on project milestones, risks, and issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize release processes and enhance efficiency.

Duration and Work Arrangement: This is a 6+ month contract position, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role with the organization. The ideal candidate would be available for hybrid on-site work, with 2-3 days per week in the office. The expected pay range is $60 - $85/hr. depending on experience and location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, with a focus on managing product releases in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Proficiency in project management tools, particularly Smartsheet, is highly desirable

  • Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is preferred
