Must work closely with other retail, service, and warehouse employees to make timely and effective decisions which are mutually beneficial to the customer and organization. The Retail Team Leader supports the General Manager in all operations at the location and is responsible for making sure the store functions smoothly while optimizing profits. The Retail Team Leader will direct restocking efforts, execute the floor merchandising plan, as well as conduct scheduling and training. In this position, the Retail Team Leader must be able to garner respect and motivate personnel to perform at their maximum capacity, keeping the store in good working order. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of sales, staff training, merchandising, ordering, and marketing as well as strong people-skills. Delegation is a key component to success in this position.

The Retail Store Manager's objective will be to take any and all actions that ultimately drive the store's business and help achieve overall company goals.

Job Duties:

Achieve a high level of customer service that ensures repeat and referral business.

Handle customer complaints to maintain the store's reputation

Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

Maintains store staff by training employees.

Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.

Ensures availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories.

Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.

Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.

Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.

Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.

Maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.

Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
