Description Acara Solutions, one of the country's largest aerospace staffing services firms, is helping our national aerospace manufacturing client find an Engineering Test Lab Manager (direct salaried employee) to join their organization in their plant west of Cleveland, OH. This is an onsite position with a lot of lab work. The position is open due to a promotion. The salary range is $133-150K. Develop and manage the Test Engineering group at the site. Responsible for the testing and validation activities of all products and encompasses budgeting, allocation of resources and performance of staff responsibilities. Provides managerial direction and leadership to the Test Engineering function within the engineering department. Determine resources and processes needed to support the group. Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple projects for the design and development of products. Establish and oversee accomplishment of multiple project objectives. Provide direction and guidance to subordinates on project teams. Ensure standardization of products and processes across multiple projects. Anticipate and resolve major program obstacles to maintain overall programs objectives. Internal and external customer satisfaction. Fully support and implement Company's fair employment practices in hiring, development and promotion of employees. Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics or similar Min 7 years of experience in engineering design and development (ideally within aerospace) Min 4 years of experience managing employees (they will consider leadership via project management as a substitute) Min 2 years of test / validation engineering lab experience (experience should include experience with rotating machinery and equipment). Min 1 year of experience with metrology (dealing with instrumentation, calibration and related equipment). This is an ITAR facility, U.S. Persons required. Preferred: BSEE Experience with hydraulics and/or pumps Experience or complete understanding of OSHA and former safety responsibility. Involvement with audit compliance and corrective action. Experience with the majority of the following: Programming Microsoft Office products Program Schedules Spreadsheets Word Processing AutoCAD LT PLC Setup and Programming Additional: Some light travel to customers, CA test Labs and outside test lab facilities to support product testing, supervision of offsite personnel, and attendance of technical seminars.
