PPG INDUSTRIES, INC. Quality Lab Supervisor in Elyria, Ohio

The Quality Lab Supervisor develops, maintains, and audits overall quality program to achieve customer satisfaction at our Sheffield Village Plant. You will report to the Technical Quality Manager. Key Responsibilities

  • Develops process controls and implements continuous improvement tools such as SPC, Six Sigma, Kaizan, and 8-D.
  • Implements, instructs, and coaches plant operations in the development of quality assurance practices.
  • Conducts process improvement projects required to meet EBITDA targets.
  • Maintains calibration of all laboratory and measuring equipment.
  • Develops and maintains document control program.
  • Plant coordinator for all quality training and educational programs.
  • Develops, monitors, and reports on cost of quality program.
  • Performs internal quality system audits.
  • Champions corrective actions to resolve internal and external customer/process quality issues.
  • Assures that all units of operation within the plant adhere to quality standards defined in the Corporate Quality Policy Manual.
  • Responsible for APQP program and the design and development of process racks and process documentation.
  • Attends and participates in weekly staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory responsibility for wastewater and lab technicians.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred
  • 5 years experience in quality
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience in APQP and documentation
