Job Information

Greater Southern Tier BOCES SR ACCOUNT CLERK - ISS in Elmira, New York

Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 7.5 hours per day, 12 months per year

  • Develops contracts for third party vendors on behalf of districts and the GST BOCES and works directly with vendors to resolve any invoicing and/or billings issues.

  • Approves districts’ program expenditures, conducts account reconciliations, and corrects any discrepancies in a timely manner in the WinCap accounting and financial management software.

  • Submits vouchers, processes purchase orders and invoices, and creates reports as needed.

  • Enters course offerings in Professional Learning Management (PLM) system, manages registration and attendance records, creates and disseminates related reports to component districts.

  • Prepares flyers, reserves rooms, orders supplies, and assists with professional workshop logistics.

  • Prepares COSER-specific Excel spreadsheets to track and monitor expenditures and regularly communicates updates with Director, supervisors, and clerical staff.

  • Updates a statewide vendor database and conducts special projects as assigned.

Job Qualifications

This is a competitive Civil Service position. The selected employee must possess this title or be among the top three of a current, binding Civil Service list for the title or if no binding Civil Service list be in the top three after taking the required Civil Service exam for the title.

  • Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field OR

  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and completion of a business certificate program that includes coursework in accounting, and OR

  • Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience involving responsibility for maintaining and checking financial accounts and records.

SALARY: Per Support Staff contract, plus comprehensive benefits package.
