Trayer Products, Inc. Shipping/Receiving Clerk in Elmira, New York

The Customer Service Clerk is responsible for processing information and correspondence associated with customers and their requirements, data interpretation and input, customer service complaints and general department/office functions.

  • Process packing slips & bills of lading for invoicing daily. Mailing invoices, faxing shippers, and transmitting electronic invoices to specific customers' standards.
  • Process customer purchase orders and EDI (electronic data interchange) assuring all information between customer and Trayer agrees, and acknowledgements are sent.
  • Handle/resolve customer inquiries, problems, and claims.
  • Access specific customer websites to obtain purchase orders, send ASM's and exchange information.
  • Maintain and file documented information.
  • Complete all required reports and records accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in coverage for the Reception Desk and mail duties as required.
  • Performs other duties/tasks as directed by supervision or management.
  • Ability to assist the Sales Manager with research and general requirements associated with promoting Customer Service.

Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED OR equivalent experience required, college degree preferred. - Must be dependable, able to work with little or no supervision, and have a positive steady work ethic. - Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills. - Ability to keep work area neat and clean and eliminate potential hazards. - Ability to conform to company policies/ procedures and OSHA standards with the goal of zero safety related incidents. - Personable, but professional. - Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office products and Excel spreadsheets. - Ability and capacity to train and expand knowledge based on company specifications and requirements.
