Elmira College is a private, liberal arts College located in the Finger Lakes region of New York. Seeking innovative professional to fill the position of Dean of Students. The Dean of Students is responsible for the oversight, planning, and strategic management of a comprehensive student life program, including residence life, student engagement, DEI, student conduct, personal counseling services, and the office of Campus Safety. This position reports to the President of the College.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:•Build a cohesive, comprehensive, and distinctive Division of Campus Life;•Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall student experience and support student retention;•High amount of visibility on campus, with student leaders and at campus events;•Be the student advocate on campus;•Serve as appeals officer for student conduct and Title IX violations;•Working knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance issues related to Title IX, Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA), Clery Act, and NYS Enough is Enough;•Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor professional staff;•Demonstrated ability to assess a healthy student life and campus climate;•Ability to develop partnerships with other key offices including academic affairs, advancement, admissions, and athletics;•Develop policies, programs, and services in student life to support the College’s mission, goals and values;•Participate in and chair select campus committees;•Conduct weekly Staff meetings;•Act as health services liaison.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:•Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field•5+ years of administrative experience in higher education•Demonstrated discipline and conduct experience•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a productive team member•Proficient with computers and data entry, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and ERP software •Possess a valid drivers’ licenseWORK LOCATION: In-person/on-site SUPERVISES OTHERS?
