Description

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for interacting with customers, distributors, and Hardinge field and in-house personnel to answer questions, identify solutions, provide quotes, and place orders. This position is in a demanding, fast-paced environment and requires excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy and follow through.

The requirements for this position are as follows:

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma required. Associate Degree in a related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a customer service environment as well as experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is required; experience with JD Edwards (Oracle based), and Evolve is preferred. Other qualifications include time management, team player, multi-tasker, driven, enthusiastic, detail oriented, and patient.

REPORTS TO: Customer Service Manager

LOCATION: Elmira, NY

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively communicate using various channels such as phones (direct and via Evolve), live-chat, emails, customer portals, and in-person.

  • Provide timely and accurate customer support for all questions, requests and complaints in a manner that maintains and strengthens the customer relationship.

  • Process quotes and perform follow-up activities to generate sales.

  • Process purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner; monitor production timelines and expedite deliveries per customer requests.

  • Interact with engineering, manufacturing, and supervisors to develop excellent product knowledge, in order to support customer selection of best products to fit their needs. Participate in cross-training to expand knowledge base.

  • Work effectively and seamlessly as a member of the team to present a One Team, Customer First attitude with every interaction.

  • Other duties as assigned.

PAY RANGE: $18.00 - $22.00, Salary Non-Exempt
