Navistar, Inc. Test Engineer in Elmendorf, Texas
Navistar is building a new, Industry 4.0 manufacturing facility in San Antonio, TX to develop leading-edge commercial vehicle solutions to meet the needs of today’s – and tomorrow’s – customers. This new facility will have the flexibility to build Class 6-8 vehicles, allowing Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth while growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality.
Th e Electrical Systems and Components Test department performs validation of the electrical and electronic systems of commercial truck s and school buses . The Test Engineer will prepare test procedures and execute testing of the se electrical systems. This testing will encompass system integration , computer software, serial communication, components and wiring. The testing will be performed on Navistar’s electric vehicles and vehicles with autonomous driver assist systems.
Position Purpose and Requirements:
The Test Engineer will p rovide technical and analytical support to Product Development Engineering to assess whether new vehicle design meet customers’ needs as stated through design requirements .
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Prepare test procedures based on written requirements
• Perform electrical validation test ing and a naly sis of test data
• Problem Solve to Troubleshoot root cause for failures of electric circuits or software
• Write formal test reports
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment

Understanding of SAE J1939 Control Area Network (CAN)
Understanding of Mathworks MATLAB
Use of National Instruments LabVIEW
