Navistar, Inc. Manufacturing Engineer Lead in Elmendorf, Texas

Position Overview

Advance Manufacturing Engineering at Navistar has an excellent opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer Lead.

The Manufacturing Engineer Lead will report to the AME Chief Engineering Manager and oversee the modifications and configurations required for the Plant assembly process due to product introduction, including the manufacturing systems & production equipment. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing strategies to enhance operational efficiency by utilizing lean principles.

Responsibilities

  • Managing all the systems modification requirements to support the continuous improvement of the MES system at the San Antonio Assembly Plant

  • Develop MES-MRE-other testing in coordination with operations to assure the equipment and the systems work as expected before deploying any system change in production

  • Support the Manufacturing team at San Antonio Plant in the solution of the emerging problems

  • Support AME team in the new product introduction with the configuration of the systems and pilot requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing

OR

  • At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Rockwell MES system

  • Experience with Navistar product system CDMS

  • Experience with Truck manufacturing processes

  • Management or experience leading small teams and projects

  • Experience with tooling and process requirements selection to be connected to the systems to record and errorproof

  • Be able to analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems

  • Technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements
