We are inviting applications for the role of Director of Accounting, with a client in the healthcare industry here in Anne Arundel County, MD. This role will lead a team of 4, is pivotal to the organization, overseeing and guiding critical aspects of our accounting management processes. The successful candidate will ensure financial accuracy and strict compliance with SEC guidelines, as well as actively participate in strategic financial endeavors such as budget preparation and audit readiness. You will manage the journal entry process, close processes, payroll review, account reconciliations, and lead parts of the audit management process.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and implementation of organizational accounting policies, ensuring adherence to GAAP.

• Oversee the organization's general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Oversee tax and regulatory reporting, ensuring timely completion of filings.

• Lead all accounting close processes.

• Evaluate and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies in accounting operations.

• Assist with cash management and cash forecasting.

• Collaborate with cross-departmental stakeholders to implement internal controls and evaluate the impact of business developments on the financials.

• Work closely with senior management and other financial teams to create, refine, and monitor organizational budgets and financial forecasts.

Requirements

• Experience in a role leading accounting team and functions for a minimum of 5 years

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required

• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP Accounting) and US GAAP

• NetSuite experience is a plus

• Skilled in Auditing, Budget Processes, and Budgeting - Forecasting

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities - team player with ability to mentor

• Self-starter work ethic

• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and management

• Ability to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously

• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting software.
