Polaris Industries Godfrey Marine - TIG Welder - Plant 1 in Elkhart, Indiana

Position Overview

TIG Welder 1 is responsible for being able to assemble and weld parts as directed, read prints to ensure proper welds, hold the proper dimensions for each unit, fabricate parts to specifications, and follow directions.

Essential Job Functions

-Knowledge of TIG welding; at least 1 year experience

-Able to find all holes during leak testing

-Knowledge of fabrication parts and air checking tools

-Know where to put lift eye flanges for different diameter tubes

-Able to run bead on different material thickness

-Knowledge of air and hand tools such as screw guns, drills, sanders, and band saws

-Must be able to read blue prints and a tape measure efficiently

Non-Essential Job Functions

-Able to understand and follow the requirements, policies, and guidelines set forth within the Code of Conduct & Employee Handbook expectations

-Must have reliable transportation to get to work

-Must be a great problem solver

-Communicate well with others

-Organize work area

-Must be able to follow the Company's Safety and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) guidelines

Requirements

-Work inside without air conditioning

-Exposure to dust and loud noises

-Able to stand and walk around all day

-Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and bending frequently

-Must be able to lift and handle up to 50 pounds of material

Other Skills/Abilities

-Ability to be cross trained

-Ability to professionally work with team members, team leads, and supervisors to achieve daily work targets

-Must be able to listen, understand, and follow the instructions and coaching feedback provided be leadership

-Ability to understand importance of following work instructions to complete the daily work targets with zero defects
