FirstService Residential Maintenance Technician in Elk Grove Village, Illinois

Job Overview:

As aMaintenance Technician,you’llbe responsible forensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained and all common areas are maintained in a clean aesthetically appealing and disinfected condition.

This temporary, full-time opportunity is availableat a property inHinsdale, Illinois.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, damage to walls, etc.
  • Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
  • Maintain grounds, including sidewalks, snow removal, gutter cleaning, wood replacement, drywall, collecting trash, etc.
  • Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
  • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, setting up tables and chairs for Board Meetings.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems
  • Evaluate the functionality of the facility’s safety systems
  • Report to manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1 years’ previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Ability to engage law enforcement, when necessary, to promote public safety.
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
  • Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings
  • Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas in a constructive and positive manner; addresses problems and issues constructively to find mutually acceptable and practical business solutions.
  • Must possess a high energy attitude and an ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
