SOD FARM WORKERS JOB DOES NOT START UNTIL, September 1, 2024. APPLICANT MUST RECEIVE A COPY OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB REFERRAL BEFORE CALLING workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from 09/01/2024 to 12/15/2024.The confirmed wage in the area for sod work is $15.14 and for all other activities the adverse effect wage rate for the area is $15.14 per hour. Wages are paid weekly. The employer guarantees to offer a least 3/4 of the hours listed in the contract. Workers compensation insurance will be provided. The employer must provide free housing and three meals a day or furnish free convenient cooking facilities to all workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence the same day. If the employer elects to provide meals a maximum of $15.88 per day may be charged to the employee. The employer will provide the necessary tools supplies and equipment at no cost to the worker. Sod Farm Workers may apply seed to fields by hand or equipment. Workers may water and fertilize as needed. Workers will roll sod and prepare for shipping. Workers will load and unload trucks for planting and shipping. Workers will be cleaning work areas for following days work. Workers will prepare ground for next season. Tools and Equipment The employer will furnish without charge all tools supplies and equipment required in the performance of the specified work. Workers will be charged for any willful damage or loss of such tools and equipment. Alternative Work Alternative work includes preparing sheds draining fields preparing land for planting maintenance of tools and equipment and other work that is directly related to growing nursery products. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities stated above.
