Summary/Objective:

Atalanta Corporation is growing, and we are in search of a Production Artist, ideally with expertise in, or knowledge of, packaging to join our Marketing team. The i deal candidate enjoys and fully understands print production and file setup requirements for accurate printing. You will be working closely with productive and positive designers who will guide you through the file development processes with clear expectations. We are one of the largest family-owned food importers in the US servicing all channels of the food industry with products from around the world. The Production Artist will be part of Atalanta Corporation’s marketing team. Atalanta is an importer of premium, branded foods including specialty cheese, meats, and gourmet food items. Our products are distributed nationally to retailers, restaurants, food service operators, and industrial food processors.

In this role, you will support our Sales and Marketing Team with production layout for products/brands/campaigns reaching retail, club, foodservice, and manufacturing channels.  We are looking for a detail-oriented, collaborative team player with expert layout/production skills who will provide accurate execution of print ready and digital files. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time. Someone with a passion for food is a plus! We are offering you a chance to work with some of the finest domestic and imported specialty food products from around the world.

Essential Functions:

  • Setup of print ready production files for packaging (labels, sleeves, inner boxes, display cartons, etc.) of existing and emerging brands in our portfolio

  • Production layout of print and digital marketing materials including packaging, ads, brochures, catalogs, sell sheets, promos and merchandising materials, presentations and trade show signage

  • M aintain and drive adherence to brand standards across all touchpoints and product lines

  • Collection of art elements, production file layouts, proofs, iterations, revisions, file preparation, release of final print production files and printer coordination

  • Ability to maintain existing brand integrity and aesthetics along with the ability to identify errors and visual inconsistencies

  • Deep understanding of image resolution, color formats, dies, bleed, vector vs. raster and proper file setup

  • Meticulous attention to detail for file accuracy

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with Designers, Brand Teams, Sales and Marketing Teams, suppliers and printers

  • Exhibit strong time management skills

  • Consistent implementation of established art archiving protocol

  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and adjust priorities as needed

  • Flexibility and problem solving skills

    Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design

  • 0 - 3 years experience in graphic design

  • Good knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience in print production and packaging design (food industry a plus)

  • Good understanding of print requirements and proper file setup  (ie: resolution, color formats, dies, bleed, vector vs. raster )

  • Enjoys the production phase - building of files and adapting them to different formats as assigned by the Marketing Director

  • Strong project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Positive attitude and team player

  • Culinary and/or specialty food experience a plus
