SAIC Spacecraft Electrical Integration and Test Engineer in EL SEGUNDO, California

Description

SAIC is seeking a Spacecraft Electrical Integration and Test Engineer . This position is located in El Segundo, CA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph .

This role will support the Integration, Test, and Launch (IT&L) Branch, who requires an engineer with technical expertise in spacecraft electrical engineering. In this role you will be an integral participant in spacecraft electrical requirements development, design analysis, and verification. Key areas of focus include electrical analysis, power distribution, spacecraft test, spacecraft deployments, and spacecraft transportation.

In this role you will perform the following duties:

  • Provide on-site, direct support for major program acquisitions.

  • Participate in factory and launch base activities such as witnessing tests at all levels and providing feedback to government and SETA team members, acting as the government’s eyes and ears at the factory.

  • Attend engineering review boards and participate in applicable working groups.

  • Attend Program Office meetings and perform other duties as specified by branch or division management, as needed.

  • Provide status feedback on process improvements and recommendations on best path forward.

  • Participate in document reviews (test procedures, design, management, integration and installation plans, and witness tests and installations).

  • Provide support to launch and satellite on-orbit test as required by the customer.

  • Attend branch meetings as appropriate at the request of the customer to coordinate support activities.

  • Provide technical evaluation of accommodation efforts in developer’s Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).

  • Attend developer milestone reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR, pre-test, pre-ship and other meetings) to provide technically based recommendations regarding satisfaction of review entrance and exit criteria.

  • Support factory integration and test activities.

  • Develop productive relationships with prime contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other spacecraft subsystem subject matter experts.

  • Advise and mentor USG IT&L Branch personnel regarding spacecraft electrical subsystem design elements.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and 9 years professional experience. Note: Additional years experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

  • Experience in the design & integration of satellite buses and knowledgeable of launch & flight operations of space vehicles.

  • Experience in defense and intelligence community acquisition and program management processes.

  • An understanding of full life cycle system support, from procurement to launch, including requirement analysis, requirements tracking, system design and development through system test, installation and sell-off, delivery, and hardware development, testing, analysis, and requirements verification.

  • Basic understanding of DoD/IC satellite systems and architectures.

  • Familiarity with space systems ground support and hardware acquisitions.

  • Available to travel occasionally domestically.

Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
