The Youth Care Worker, Senior Lead is responsible for the oversight and operational performance of all Youth Care Worker, Leads in the Operations Center of an on-site children’s residential facility. Functions as the liaison with other leads and any other on-site vendors. This position is responsible for ensuring all Youth Care Worker, Leads as well as the Youth Care Worker are performing according to ORR Policy and are providing line of sight supervision of minors at all times. They ensure contractual requirements and client expectations are met at the on-site residential facility.


  • Ensures the supervision of assigned on-site Youth Care Worker, Leads and Youth Care Worker staff.

  • Maintain accurate and timely UC and staff count per shift

  • Oversee operational needs of the dorm, to include UC nutritional schedule, and coordinate facility and medical needs

  • Develop and maintain and schedule Youth Care Worker, Leads

  • Oversee the youth care workers, indirectly

  • Ability to interact with Case Manager when issues occur;

  • Provides documentation of supervision by completing a supervisory log for all staff supervised.

  • Completes all required documentation that pertains to this position in a timely fashion that may include daily reports.

  • Ensures appropriate shelter care and line of sight supervision of unaccompanied minors by assigned staff is handled appropriately and is organized.

  • Supports the Site Lead through formal or informal supervision and provides staff with ongoing feedback, Communicates frequently with shift supervisor.

  • Assists during transition and movement of children from one activity to the next and one physical location to another.

  • Participates in ongoing meetings, conferences, training programs as required.

  • Provides coverage for assigned staff when needed.

  • Responsible for adhering to ORR and other state regulations.

  • Performs duties in a safe manner. Follows the corporate safety policy. Participates and supports safety meetings, training and goals. Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility. Encourages co-workers to work safely. Identifies “close calls” and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

  • Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma and at least three (3) years of relevant experience.

  • Associates degree with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience, highly preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

  • Two (2) plus years’ experience in child care or residential care for adolescents.

  • Any operations experience. Must demonstrate experience training and leading others and adapting to diverse situations.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel as needed.

  • Excellent presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills required.

  • Proficiency with computer, common office equipment, and MS Office products required.

  • Clean criminal background check.

  • Clean child abuse and neglect or child protective services check (CAN).

  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to sit for more than 8 hours per day

  • Must be willing to work over time, if necessary

  • Ability to perform duties in a safe manner.

  • Ability to follow the corporate safety policy.

  • Ability to participate and support safety meetings, training and goals.

  • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.

  • Encourages co-workers to work safely.

  • Ability to identify close calls and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel.

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned within scope of work and responsibility.

  • Must have the ability to resolve unforeseen problems with little or no direction from manager.

  • Knowledge of government property, shipping, packing, and logistical operations
