Eaton Corporation Material Handler- 1st Shift in El Paso, Texas

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Material Handler- 1st Shift. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. The rate for this position is $15.60 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you’ll do:

Position Overview:

The Material Handler will provide shipping and warehousing expertise to support in all areas of the Switchboard Team including, but not limited to, assembly, order picking, and shipping and receiving parts, with the overall goal of timely order fulfillment and adherence to Eaton’s quality standards.

In this function, you will:

• Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.

• Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed.

• Receive and process material kitting orders on time to execute production schedules

• Complete inventory transactions and ensure accuracy

• Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment safely and competently. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.

• Own and lead 5S process and discipline for assigned warehouse area

• Receive and process incoming raw material and ensure the inventory process is followed correctly

• Prepare finished products for final shipment including packaging, documentation, and loading to ensure on-time delivery

• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), order pickers, automatic pallet wrappers, and pallet jacks

• Perform Lean Initiatives by recommending suggestions for improvement related to quality, work processes, and environmental safety and health.

Qualifications:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

• No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of the Eaton El Paso, TX facility (50-mile radius) will be considered for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or more years of warehouse experience in an industrial environment.

• One or more years of forklift operation experience preferred

Skills:

Position Criteria:

• Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive, and analytical problem-solving skills. Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.

• Computer literate.

• Knowledge of AS400, VISTA and MAPICS systems

• Knowledge of Lean and continuous process improvements

• Ability to lift. push, and pull up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to squat and reach above the head with or without reasonable accommodation

• Ability to physically operate a forklift with or without reasonable accommodation
