Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provides inpatient and outpatient adult neurology clinical services to include critically ill neurological patients and stroke consults at either the assigned Neurology Outpatient clinic or the designated affiliated hospital(s)

  • Supervises resident clinics and participates in the overall teaching program for teaching and training of residents and medical students, to include presentation of lectures

  • Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

  • Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work and other administrative duties

  • Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complimentary to the institutional mission

  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

  • Demonstrate professionalism in accordance with the Paul L, Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility,

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. Degree

  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurology Residency Program

  • Successful completion of an ACGME- or UCNS-accredited neuro-critical care fellowship program in the United States

  • Board Certification in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

  • Texas medical license, or eligible for licensure in Texas
