Job Description
GENERAL PURPOSE
Participate in the evaluation and measurement of compliance against quality assurance and food safety programs. Provide assistance in the development, monitoring, and maintenance of food safety and quality programs and records.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct walkthroughs of the facility to evaluate compliance and ensure necessary corrective actions are completed; may participate in regulatory and customer inspections
Perform data entry and analysis related to internal inspections, sanitation and environmental monitoring programs
Work cross functionally to establish corrective actions and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Perform and/or assist with root cause analysis
Prepare and organize records as requested for internal and external audits
Support and assist in the writing, reviewing, updating, and training of documentation elements of the Quality Management System and related software
Educate and train employees on food safety and quality topics
Adhere to all DFA Quality and Safety policies and procedures and report any nonconformities
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent
Post-secondary education related to food science, biological science, or related sciences preferred
1 to 3 years of quality systems, food safety, production, or related experience in a food manufacturing environment
Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment such as SQF, HACCP and PCQI certifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Able to use Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
Able to prepare technical reports and procedures
Able to keep good records (record keeping skill)
Able to prioritize tasks and work independently
Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Must be able to read, write and speak English
