Bay Area Community Resources Expanded Learning Program Instructor (Fairmont Elementary) in El Cerrito, California

We are seeking committed and passionate Expanded Learning Program Instructors to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our East Bay Expanded Learning Programs. As a Program Instructor you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting. Be part of an innovative and creative team that impacts the community, make the world a better place, and be part of change.

Benefits:

  • Pay rate: $20 per hour

  • Hours: 22 hours a week

  • Paid BACR holidays

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, afternoons until 6 p.m.; Off holidays, summers, and weekends

Minimum Requirements

  • No experience required

  • Available Monday through Friday 20 -24 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm

  • Ability to reliably commute to El Cerrito

  • Commitment to social justice and leadership

  • Passionate about learning and youth development: K-12

  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

  • Work Hours: Monday,Tues,Thursday, Friday 2pm-6pm/ Wednesdays 1pm-6pm

Preferred:

  • Commitment to a full school year, able to practice open, clear and consistent communication, commitment to participate in professional development

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment

  • Create, plan, & execute lesson plans that support school day learning

  • Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)

  • Model BACR Best Practices
