Job Purpose:

Provides food and beverage service to guests

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)

  • Provides guests with food and beverage service by acknowledging and welcoming guests entering the restaurant area, answering question about menu items, promptly taking and serving food and beverage orders, entering orders into the point of sale system, entering discounts, delivering check to the cashier for processing and returning change or receipt following established procedures.

  • Promotes guest relations by responding to guest requests in a timely manner, offering appropriate up-to-date information regarding promotions, contests and giveaways and treating guests in a friendly and courteous manner.

  • Ensures responsible alcohol beverage service policies are followed by asking for proper identification from guests who appear to be under the age of 30, monitoring alcohol consumption, ensuring guests do not become intoxicated following established procedures, stopping alcohol service at the designated time, and clearing the room of all alcoholic containers, glasses and bottles for each venue at the time specified.

  • Maintains safe and sanitary dining areas by cleaning surfaces, picking up used plates, cups, condiments and utensils, and disposing of all trash.

  • Ensures restaurant stations are stocked and clean by submitting supply requisitions, placing delivered water, food and supplies in designated areas, replenishing condiments in the server stations, polishing silverware, folding napkins, and cleaning shelves, condiment holders, tables and counters according to established procedures.

    Education and Experience:

Essential:

  • County of San Diego Food Handler Card

  • CA ABC Responsible Beverage Service Certification

  • 21 years of age

  • 1 year of food server experience

    Desirable:

  • Guest or Hospitality Service

  • Fine dining server experience

    Skills and Knowledge:

    Essential:

  • Ability to work effectively with team members and guests

  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language

  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure

  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations

  • Ability to understand verbal directives and written instructions

  • Ability to accept constructive criticism

  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time

  • Ability to carry large serving tray and tray jacks

  • Ability to bend, stoop, push and pull

  • Ability to work in a smoking environment

  • Ability to appear for work on time

  • Ability to routinely lift and carry 35 pounds
