Who we are:

Come Join Our Team! GDIT is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies (i.e. defense). We are currently looking for a Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer located in Elgin AFB, FL. This is your opportunity to work with technically advanced environments and users.

The desired candidate will:

  • ISSO’s define, create and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of each information system in accordance with government requirements. They also assess the impacts on system modifications and technological advances.

  • Additionally, ISSOs review systems in order to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.

  • Physical and environmental protection, personnel security as well as security training and awareness

  • Maintaining accountability of classified assets to include media and hardware

  • Collect, review, document, and archive audit logs, reports and files in accordance with the System Security Plan (SSP), reporting any anomalies to the ISSM

  • Ensure all users have the required security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and security responsibility awareness before being granted access to the information systems

  • Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning software (e.g. ACAS, SCAP)

  • Risk Management Framework (RMF) process in accordance with the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG)

  • Assist in performing incident response activities (investigation, collection, reporting, containment, and eradication) as applicable in accordance with incident response policy, plans, procedures, and ISSM guidance.

Required Skills

  • Strong DoD/USAF Information Assurance policy background

  • Strong understanding of Air Force systems, account creation and maintenance processes

  • Remedy trouble ticket management skills to address ongoing customer needs

  • Strong understanding of USAF vulnerability management tools and processes

  • Strong organizational skills and interpersonal communications

Desired Skills:

  • SIEM/Audit Reduction Tool - LogRhythm, Syslog (SE Linux) and Fortinet

  • Vulnerability scanning software and mitigation processes for output (Nessus, ACAS)

  • TEMPEST Management

  • SharePoint management

Required Experience

  • TS/SCI Required (customer may accept a highly qualified candidate with a Secret clearance, adjudicated within 6 years of hire date)

  • DoD 8570 compliant certification required (IAT II) (CompTIA Security+ CE)

  • 5+ years of experience as an Information System Security Officer or Information System Security Manager.
