About The Role The successful candidate will be a self-starting, team-oriented person that is excited to join a design team that takes the design process from beginning to end. They will be responsible for gathering upfront survey and boundary research, collecting survey data, drafting, and boundary resolution under the review of a professional surveyor. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: SURVEYING DUTIES Research any boundary documents necessary to complete survey. Complete topographic surveys in a detailed manor. Perform boundary surveys under the supervision of a licensed land surveyor. Have knowledge of GPS, total station, robotic total station. Perform AutoCAD/Microsoft drawing activities as assigned Input field data into electronic format Utilize GIS tools and information Assist engineering staff with topographic, boundary and stakeout of utility projects. Complete daily communication with engineering staff, customers, and contractors. ENGINEERING DUTIES Conducts field audits for the construction of gas and/or electrical power systems Provides engineering information to customers; responds to inquiries and requests Demonstrates knowledge of construction sites, the work and the feasibility of the construction Fosters a safe, productive job site environment and quality work products; encourages an attitude of safety and quality in others

Experience Required:

Education and/or Experience: Minimum two-year degree in applicable engineering, geography, GIS, math, technical field or relevant experience in lieu of degree. Knowledge of survey equipment. Knowledge of utility locators. 2+ years experience in topographic and boundary survey Knowledge of computer drafting (AutoCAD, Civil 3d, Plant 3d, MicroStation, etc.) Interest in the utility industry Ability to design electric distribution systems based on field/site conditions and notes, utility infrastructure maps, and input from utility engineers Experience with contractual related project/work environment a plus Proficiency level in MS Office applications (specifically Windows, Word, Excel) Willingness to participate in a team environment Willingness to work in an outside environment Excellent verbal and written communication Valid driver's license
