Northrop Grumman Flight Inspector 4 in Edwards AFB, California

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has a current job opening for a Level 4 Flight Inspector located at Edwards Air Force Base in CA, supporting the B-2 program.

Essential Functions:

  • Inspecting production aircraft systems, equipment, and parts for operation and conformance to government and company standards and specifications

  • Inspecting the installation and operation of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, oil, and emergency systems and other parts and equipment of aircraft

  • Performing preflight and post-flight inspections in accordance with standard procedures on flight-proven aircraft.

  • Approving non-flight-proven aircraft for flight. Inspects, adjustments, repairs, or modifications made on the aircraft.

  • Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with at least 8 years' experience in aerospace with an emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance. Or an associate degree with at least 6 years of experience in aerospace with an emphasis in aircraft manufacturing and quality assurance.

  • Must be capable of performing mechanical measurement, test witness, processing of nonconforming material into the MRB, and verification of reworked or repaired product.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance.

  • Must be able to pass medical/respiratory exams.

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 years' experience working with production, flight operations, Flight Test and engineering and the customer.

  • A&P license

  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to all levels of leadership.

Salary Range: $81,500 - $135,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
